I also went through a period of intense fascination with Ireland at the beginning of my university studies - but that was more "academic", I guess (though it was chiefly inspired by music, too).
The Greece thing started when I was quite small, and I couldn't really understand where it came from - which makes me more inclined to think it was linked to something "beyond" this life... *ponders*
