Floating Leaf

It's still cold, dammit. Not as bad as it was a few days ago, but WAY too cold for June.:/ I'm beginning to wonder if I'll get to wear my summer clothes at all this year...

Not much else to report at the moment. Might just as well try to get on with the woefully neglected 30-day meme...



My favorite place? Well, home, of course. Wherever that happens to be. Throughout my life, my favorite place has always been "my room", if I had one; namely, the place where I could close the door and just be by myself, for however long I wished. I did not always have that luxury - and the times in my life when I did not were largely miserable. Some of those rooms I have called my own throughout the years were pretty shabby, but it didn't matter; what mattered was privacy. Nice and comfortable room décor was just the icing on the cake.;) I suspect I would be perfectly happy in a closet (incidentally, pun intended, LOL), as long as it had blankets/pillows and enough light so I could read.:D

My favorite place, geographically? Well, I have a few. Athens, Greece. Venice, Italy. New Orleans, Louisiana. Krakow, Poland (for sentimental reasons). Basically, any city with a distinctive character and lots of history is a good candidate. Also, probably a number of random pine forests, wild, overgrown gardens, verdant meadows and secluded dunes. I haven't travelled much, and mostly around Central/Eastern Europe, so that's where my nostalgic mind trips take me. Probably wouldn't mind discovering some colorful tropical paradise either, if I could afford it...

Well... I'm afraid that's it for tonight. I somehow managed to stay up past midnight yesterday - without meaning to, of course - and as a result, I've been nursing a headache.:/ So right now, my favorite place is probably my bed...;)
