Snagged from
rainweaver13. And, again, we got the same result.:)
Not that my writing could ever come close to either hers or Virginia Woolf's... BUT. The 'inside my own head' focus is definitely there.:P

Which literature classic are you?

Virginia Woolf: Orlando. You are a challenge, for outer events, the outside world, the time etc. play no importance to you. Your focus is in writing, in gender issues, and inside your own head. Self-analysis and exploration of yourself as well as the outer world hold great importance to you.

In other news, I am FINALLY going to see POTC:AWE tomorrow. With
akashaelfwitch, who has seen it four times already (ahhh, the sacrifices we sometimes make for our friends... ;D). Yes, I had to wait for her to come to Chicago again, because none of the few friends I have here would even consider seeing a Disney movie.:P And I can't really explain to them why I want to see it - not without going into the whole slash thing. Because otherwise I probably wouldn't want to see it either. Btw, I just pictured myself saying something along the lines of: Yes, I want to see this movie for Orlando - not because I fancy him, but because I think Viggo does. Heh. I bet the look on some of my friends' faces would be priceless.:D
Also, my throat feels extremely dry, constricted and scratchy for some reason. I keep drinking water and hot tea with large amounts of honey, and still it doesn't get any better. Could it be some infection?... Last time I got a nasty larynx inflammation that lasted a week and required antibiotics, it was also the height of summer. I hope this one is just a side effect of my allergies, or possibly air conditioning, which does make the air extremely dry - but I have a feeling it might be something worse. I woke up this morning feeling like I had spent weeks in the Sahara...LOL.
I haven't travelled for so long I seem to have forgotten that you usually need a passport to go to a foreign country, and how much time it usually takes to get one. Hell, I am even confused as to whether I am actually eligible for a U.S. passport (I am a "legal alien" here - to quote one of my favorite songs by Sting - but not a citizen yet as of right now). Possibly not. And if not, can I use a Polish passport to travel from the US to Canada? I don't see why I couldn't, since obviously as a legal alien I have the right to travel abroad, and I wouldn't have any other choice anyway if they required a passport, but wouldn't give me a US one; still, it just seems weird somehow. And I don't think I know anyone who is in the same situation; all my Polish friends & relatives have been here much longer, and they're all citizens. Though I know some still use their Polish passports when they go visit family back in Poland. Anyway... I hope I can resolve this issue by September, since I would really like to go to Toronto.:)

Date: 2007-06-16 03:05 pm (UTC)Maybe I should do that. *scratching head* I liked the movie version of Orlando, though.

Date: 2007-06-17 06:33 pm (UTC)As for my writing... there's hardly any to speak of, in the first place. I do know my English grammar, but I suffer from a sore lack of creative content, and I only get inspired once in a blue moon.:(
But thanks for your kind words, anyway.

Date: 2007-06-17 06:26 pm (UTC)Get better soon!
And about the passport issues... I am sure it will all be solved when September comes. I am crossing my fingers that you'll get to go to TIFF, because I would love to share your experience of it *is greedy*

Date: 2007-06-17 06:47 pm (UTC)The movie was yesterday (I did enjoy it, and will probably make a post about that later, if I feel up to it). Today I am at home, feeling quite sick. If I don't get better by tomorrow morning, I will go see a doctor. My throat still feels like the desert and I can barely speak.:/
Thanks for your email, and sorry I haven't replied yet. I am a bit behind on my emails, but I will get there.:)
I would so love to go to TIFF and be able to share the experience later... even if I am nervous about planning this trip for very many reasons. *keeps being her usual worrying, panicky self* ;)
